It’s never about practicing a pose perfectly,
it’s about practicing awareness internally.
I have my mum to thank for introducing me to yoga over 12 years ago.
What started as an evening activity together, gradually became something so much more.
After years of competitive sport, yoga offered me a different kind of strength - a space to slow down and reconnect.
Wellbeing has always been a big part of my life, I studied Biology at university before moving into healthcare communications in London. But amongst the pace and routine of corporate life, I found myself craving work that felt more
meaningful and aligned…
At the start of 2025, I took a three-month sabbatical, planning to travel and have a break from work. However, early into the trip, I felt an unexpected pull toward something deeper, like I wanted to make the most of this time away.
So, completely on instinct, and with little research and preparation, I signed up for a yoga teacher training in Bali (starting just ten days later!)
And that was the decision that changed everything
Four weeks immersed in Ashtanga yoga, philosophy and anatomy shifted something - it felt as though I’d stumbled across something I had been searching for all along.
The things I learnt were so aligned to how I wanted to live my life, I just hadn’t discovered what it was yet.
Returning home, one thing became clear: I wanted to share this with others. So I took the leap and left my corporate career to follow what had quietly been calling me for years.
Through Kalm with Katie, I want to share the transformational power of yoga.
And show people that it’s so much more than poses on a mat.
It doesn’t matter if you can’t touch your toes or do the splits. It’s about presence, awareness, and creating space to reconnect with yourself.
And it’s this presence and awareness you take into the rest of your life that offers such transformation
Wherever and whatever you come from, my hope is that you leave feeling calmer, lighter, and more connected to yourself.
